England will receive a whopping $US 1.6 million for defeating Pakistan and winning the final of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup2022 in Melbourne on Sunday.

The exciting T20 event came to a thrilling finish at the MCG over the weekend, and just how the total prize pool of $5.6 million will be distributed among the teams is now known.

While Jos Buttler’s winning side will have the highest amount, all 16 teams will be awarded a payout for their efforts in Australia.

Runners-up Pakistan will obtain precisely half the amount England got ($800,000). At the same time, the two losing semi-finalists – India and New Zealand – will collect $400,000 apiece.

The eight teams that exited at the Super 12 stage will get $70,000 each. Like the previous year at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021, a win in per of the 30 games in the Super 12 stage is worth $40,000 to each team.

The four teams knocked out in the first round – UAE, Scotland, Namibia, and West Indies – will get $40,000 each. Still, every side will also obtain an extra $40,000 per win they picked up during the First Round.

BEST OF ANRICH NORTJE SO FAR AT T20WC 2022

A standout performer in South Africa’s sometimes brilliant but eventually unsuccessfully campaign, Anrich Nortje’s pace forced opponents’ problems in the Super 12 stage. One of the quickest bowlers on show, Nortje took 11 wickets in five matches but also displayed excellent control – his economy of 5.37 is incredible, given his bowling style.

Mark Wood – England

The fastest bowler at the T20 World Cup 2022 and a go-to wicket-taker for England, Mark Wood was back to his scintillating best in the Super 12 stage. Wood took nine wickets in the four group-stage matches in which he played.

Shaheen Shah Afridi – Pakistan

AFRIDI CLEANS UP HALES WITH RIPPING YORKER | T20WC 2022

Fitness problems saw Shaheen Shah Afridi relieve himself into the tournament. A setback in the final caused him to be incapable of bowling his last two overs of the competition on tragic occasions. But the Pakistan strike bowler stepped up when his team required him to as the tournament reached its crunch point. His removal of Finn Allen set the tone in a brilliant beginning spell against New Zealand in the semi-final, and a trademark inswinger did for Alex Hales in the 1st over of the final. There is no bowler on the planet right now that you’d rather have to take that new ball in a T20 International.

BEST OF SURYAKUMAR YADAV SO FAR | T20WC 2022

Jos Buttler – 225 runs

Still, he struck form at the correct time, scoring 73 from 47 deliveries in a vital Super 12 clash against New Zealand and an unbeaten 80 from 49 balls in the semi-final against India. SIKANDAR RAZA STARS IN ZIMBABWE’S HISTORIC WIN | POTM HIGHLIGHTS | T20WC 2022

Pathum Nissanka – 214 runs

Nissanka, too played an essential role for Sri Lanka at the top of the batting order. While Mendis was the attacker, Nissanka was the steadying force in their batting partnerships. He played two crucial knocks of 74 and 67 against UAE and England, respectively. Still, the knock against England was of top quality as it came at a time when the other Sri Lankan batters fell to deliver.

Alex Hales – 212 runs

Top Wicket Takers

Sri Lanka’s Wanindu Hasaranga, for the second edition in a row, topped the wickets chart at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup2022.

The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 produced many theatrical moments, but some had more effect on particular fixtures than others.

We look at five moments that shaped their matches and changed the face of the tournament in the process.

Roelof van der Merwe’s catch against South Africa

The Netherlands was well in the game but not over the line when David Miller went after a short Brandon Glover delivery.

A looping top edge had Dutch veteran Van der Merwe rushing back, and the 37-year-old timed it correctly to take the catch on the run, watching the ball fall over his shoulder.

STUNNING CATCH OFF SOUTH AFRICA DANGERMAN DAVID MILLER SETS UP NETHERLANDS TRIUMPH | T20WC 2022

It was a gorgeous piece of fielding and set up the victory for the Netherlands – a win that hit South Africa out of the tournament and turned the World Cup on its head.

Miller was nicely set and prepared to release at that exact point. Had he been in for the remaining 28 deliveries, it would have been strongly possible that the Proteas would have pursued down 158 and progressed into the semi-finals.

That Virat Kohli six off Haris Rauf

India was in danger. It appeared they’d left it too late, with 28 needed off just eight balls. Haris Rauf had been bowling superbly, leaking just 24 runs with two balls of his four overs. It was now or never for Kohli and India.

The delivery was a good one, with proper pace, cramping Kohli for a room, and the Indian superstar had no right to do what he did.

A flick of the wrists mixed with a short-arm jab sent the ball floating through the Melbourne sky and deep into the stands in a moment that will go down in cricket history.

NISSAN POTD: VIRAT KOHLI’S GAME-CHANGING SIX

Another max off the next delivery unexpectedly had India back in the hunt with one over to go. We all know what occurred from there.

Whereas it was that first six in the penultimate over that set up the following drama, It would have been a brilliant shot of the context. But given the match condition, it was arguably the most significant single T20 shot of all time.

England’s dismissal of Glenn Phillips

A glimpse back at the scorecard makes England’s 20-run win over New Zealand seem straight. But nerves were starting to tingle when Phillips hit the accelerator towards death.

It was the 1st of 4 straight must-win games for England, and memories of their surprising loss in the 2021 semi-final were surging back as the boundaries flowed.

But eventual Player of the Tournament Sam Curran had different ideas, bowling into the pitch to draw a rare miscue from Phillips, with replacement fielder Chris Jordan creating no mistake in the deep.

WICKET – GLENN PHILLIPS – ENGLAND V NEW-ZEALAND ICC T20WC 2022

Had Phillips stayed out in the middle for the final three overs, it was no confirmation that England would have gone on to win the game.

But his wicket broke the charge and set the eventual champions on a winning path.

Shaheen Shah Afridi catches Harry Brook in the final.

It was a proper catch in the deep from Shaheen to dismiss England’s Brook in the World Cup final.

But the moment eventually confirmed damage to Pakistan’s possibility of a late recovery.

WICKET – HARRY BROOK – PAKISTAN V ENGLAND ICC T20WC 2022

Brook had looked stable but unspectacular, yet his wicket got Moeen Ali to the crease, and the all-rounder’s 19 from 13 balls released the pressure on England late on.

Not only that, but the injury that Afridi disturbed in making the catch meant he was unfit to bowl the rest of his four overs.

Pakistan’s strike bowler ended 11 balls short of his total allocation. Who knows what could have occurred if a fired-up Afridi had been available at the death?

Sikandar Raza’s two-in-two against Pakistan

One of the tournament’s best games and most surprising finishes saw Zimbabwe stun Pakistan and leave them wobbling on the brink of a World Cup exit after only 2 group games.

Pakistan looked in a powerful position in their chase of 130 in Perth, with Shan Masood and Shadab Khan settled in the middle making a partnership worth 52 runs.

But superstar man Sikandar Raza stepped up just when his team required him, first obtaining the essential scalp of the destructive Shadab and then tangling Haider Ali in front of the next ball.

HIGHLIGHTS: RAZA TAKES MATCH-TURNING 3/25 TO WIN POTM

In a matter of seconds, the game had reversed on its head, and all of the pressure was on Pakistan.

Raza’s removal of Masood in his next over resumed the slide towards what was Group 2’s greatest upset at that stage.

After a tournament with an abundance of individual brilliance, we look back on the ten best performances that played a crucial role in deciding a contest at the T20 World Cup.

Curtis Campher 72* and 2/9 vs Scotland

At 61/4, chasing 177 for a win in the First Round, Ireland looked down and out until Curtis Campher injected some adrenaline into the run chase, slamming a brilliant 32-ball 72 in a partnership of 119 with George Dockrell that came in less than ten overs.

CURTIS CAMPHER FIRES WITH BAT AND BALL IN IRELAND TRIUMPH | POTM HIGHLIGHTS | T20WC 2022

Campher lit up the Bellerive Oval with some outrageous stroke play as Ireland smashed more than ten runs off every over starting from the 12th. With the pressure of wickets and the required run rate, Campher’s sizzling knock remains one of the tournament’s highlights. The knock overshadowed his spell of 2/9 with the ball earlier in the game that put a leash on Scotland’s attack.

Virat Kohli 82* vs Pakistan

With questions about his form still floating around despite a hundred in the Asia Cup leading up to the tournament, Virat Kohli silenced his critics with mind-blowing innings against arch-rivals Pakistan, headlined by two stunning sixes off Haris Rauf in the penultimate over of the run chase.

HIGHLIGHTS OF VIRAT KOHLI’S ALL-TIME GREAT KNOCK AGAINST PAKISTAN | T20WC 2022

At 31/4 chasing 160, India had lost their way until Kohli and Hardik Pandya resurrected the innings with a defiant stand. The required run rate still made India’s chase highly improbable until Kohli’s twin sixes off Rauf changed the course of the game. He finished on a 53-ball 82* to lead India to a memorable win.

Lungi Ngidi 4/29 vs India

The South African seamer sent back India’s top three batters and then added the scalp of Hardik Pandya to produce one of the best spells of the tournament in the clash against India.

LUNGI NGIDI TAKES BRILLIANT FOUR-FOR FOR SOUTH AFRICA AGAINST INDIA | POTM HIGHLIGHTS | T20WC 2022

Ngidi reduced India to 41/3 after his first two overs produced the wickets of KL Rahul, Rohit Sharma, and Virat Kohli. He also returned after the Powerplay to dismiss Pandya, to dent India’s fight significantly.

Sikandar Raza 3/25 vs Pakistan

A game-changing spell from Sikandar Raza produced one of the greatest upsets in the tournament. Chasing 131, Pakistan was 88/3 when Raza landed a double blow that turned the game on its head.

He sent back Shadab Khan and Haider Ali off successive deliveries to reduce Pakistan to 88/5. Shan Masood had held the innings together until then, but Raza sent him back in his next over to nearly seal Pakistan’s hopes.

SIKANDAR RAZA STARS IN ZIMBABWE’S HISTORIC WIN | POTM HIGHLIGHTS | T20WC 2022

To top it all, he showed appreciable game awareness off the final ball, with Pakistan needing three runs to win (and two to tie), by identifying the right end to throw the ball to effect the crucial run out that saw Zimbabwe through by one run.

Marcus Stoinis 59* vs Sri Lanka

An 18-ball 59* from Marcus Stoinis blew Sri Lanka away in Perth in the Super 12 clash. The fifty that came off 17 balls, the joint-second-quickest in the men’s T20 World Cup, was an audacious display of stroke-making that included a hat-trick of boundaries off the tournament’s highest wicket-taker, Wanindu Hasaranga.

A knock that turned the tournament around, Shadab Khan’s innings against South Africa was one of the turning points of Pakistan’s campaign. At 95/5 in 23 overs, Pakistan seemingly went nowhere when Shadab walked in.

SENSATIONAL SHADAB STUNS SOUTH AFRICA | POTM HIGHLIGHTS | T20WC 2022

He smashed the Protea’s quicks with disdain to make 52 off 22 balls and take Pakistan to 185, a total that appeared well out of their reach before he came in. Shadab went on to take two wickets with the ball in Pakistan’s big win.

Brandon Glover 3/9 vs South Africa

You could look back at the Super 12 match between the Netherlands and South Africa as a course-defining one in the tournament. The Proteas were set to take a semi-final spot and knock Pakistan out of the game on the final day of the Super 12. The Netherlands produced a brilliant all-around showing that sent the Proteas packing instead.

With Pakistan openers putting on a dangerous stand, Curran sent back Mohammad Rizwan to break the partnership. He went on to dismiss Shan Masood, Pakistan’s top-scorer, and Mohammad Nawaz to finish with figures of 3/12.

The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 concluded on Sunday, with England lifting the trophy after beating Pakistan in the final. Here we shall look at the best matches from the tournament that left us completely stunned.

Netherlands vs South Africa – An upset of great magnitude

This was considered a match that South Africa should have won. A win here would have sealed their place in the semi-finals, but the Netherlands had other ideas.

That match was shocking as the Dutch pulled off an upset of massive magnitude in a crucial game with so much at stake for as many as three teams.

NETHERLANDS END SOUTH AFRICA SEMI-FINAL DREAM WITH SHOCK WIN | MATCH HIGHLIGHTS | T20WC 2022

South Africa had the Netherlands under control for the large part of their innings. Even though the Dutch accelerated and added some valuable runs towards the end, 158 was never seen as a total the Proteas couldn’t chase down.

But the pressure of the contest and some fine bowling by the Dutch got the better of the South African batters. The defeat knocked South Africa out of the tournament. It cleared the path for Pakistan to the semi-finals after they beat Bangladesh in the next match.

India vs Pakistan – Virat Kohli produces another innings to remember.

The fans were treated to a nerve-cracking contest as Kohli’s masterclass guided India home in a last-ball thriller.

India looked down and out of the contest when they lost four wickets with just 31 runs on the board while chasing 160. But Kohli produced the innings of his T20I career as he smashed an unbeaten 82 from just 53 deliveries to power India to a thrilling win.

HIGHLIGHTS OF VIRAT KOHLI’S ALL-TIME GREAT KNOCK AGAINST PAKISTAN | T20WC 2022

Hardik Pandya also supported him well with a knock of 40 and was involved in an essential partnership of 114 that brought India back into the game. The scenes after the match were terrific.

The fans erupted in the stadium, and the Indian players ran into the ground and lifted Kohli in their arms. There was joy all around the Indian dugout and despair in the Pakistani camp. It was a classic contest, a night to remember!

Pakistan vs Zimbabwe – Sikandar Raza’s triple-strike downs Babar Azam’s men

Before the Netherlands pulled off a shock defeat over South Africa, this match was seen as an upset of epic proportions.

Everyone backed Pakistan to win ahead of this match, and it looked even more likely when Zimbabwe could manage only 130 in their 20 overs. Pakistan was getting on its way well, at a steady rate. Still, Sikandar Raza’s triple strike wrecked Pakistan’s middle order.

Babar Azam’s men needed 11 to win off the last over, bringing it down to three from the previous ball. But the batters failed to make it back for the second run as a run out sparked extraordinary scenes in Perth. It was another contest in that Pakistan lost off the last ball, and their chances of securing a semi-final berth after this looked extremely bleak.

India vs England – The Great Indian mauling

A close contest was expected as two of the tournament favourites were locking horns in the second semi-final in Adelaide. But what turned out was a completely one-sided contest and an absolute mauling of the Indian team, as England chased down 169 with ten wickets and four overs to spare.

The opening duo of Alex Hales and Jos Buttler did the damage, with both batters remaining unbeaten on 86 and 80, respectively.

SEMI-FINAL: INDIA V ENGLAND | HINDI HIGHLIGHTS | T20WC 2022

England was in control right from the first delivery of the match. The bowlers bowled disciplined lines and lengths to keep the Indian batters quiet. Even though Hardik Pandya launched fireworks towards the end with his 33-ball knock of 63, a target of 168 was just not enough to contain a dangerous English batting line-up.

India vs. South Africa – The Proteas edge past Rohit Sharma’s men in a low-scoring thriller

A quality game can always be expected when two of the best sides in the world clash, and that’s precisely what we got when India and South Africa locked horns in Perth in the Super 12s.

The Proteas wrecked India’s top order. Still, Suryakumar Yadav’s majestic knock of 68 from 40 deliveries helped India post 133/9 in their quota of overs.

It looked tough to defend such a low total, but the Indian bowlers made quite the game out of it. Mohammed Shami was brilliant, conceding just 13 runs in his four overs. The others also stepped up, taking the match down to the wire.

But some sloppy fielding by the Indians and two great knocks by David Miller and Aiden Markram helped South Africa edge past India.

Let’s take a look at the top wicket takers of ICC T20 World Cup 2022:

Wanindu Hasaranga – 15 wickets

Hasaranga ended with one wicket fewer than in 2021 but once again led the chart for bowlers with 15 wickets in the event, including a best of 3/8. Averaging 13.26 in the event, Hasaranga was a significant presence for Sri Lanka throughout their T20 World Cup2022 campaign.

Bas de Leede – 13 wickets

De Leede excelled in the backend of the innings with his medium pace and ended with 13 wickets at an average of 13.0 in the event. His economy rate of 7.68 also revealed his support for the fantastic Netherlands pace attack.

Sam Curran – 13 wickets

The Player of the Tournament, Sam Curran, ended with 13 wickets, 5 of them coming in a single game where he recorded the first five-wicket haul by an England player in men’s T20Is. Anrich Nortje – 11 wickets

The choice of South Africa’s fantastic pace attack, Nortje ended with 11 wickets in the tournament, testing batters with his pace and bounce on the hard Aussie wickets. His 4/10 against Bangladesh and 1/10 against Netherlands were among two of the most economical four-over spells in this edition of the T20 World Cup2022. He took another four-wicket haul, against Pakistan, in the tournament, as his pace made trouble.

Shaheen Afridi – 11 wickets

He turned his performances around from there with spells of 3/14 (v South Africa), 4/22 (v Bangladesh), 2/24 (v New Zealand in the semi-finals), and 1/13 in the final. Shaheen’s injury in the 16th over of the final arguably turned the game England’s way.

Shadab Khan – 11 wickets

While Shadab’s excellent knock against South Africa was presumably one of the best individual performances in the T20 World Cup 2022, he was also excellent with the ball, registering an economy rate of 6.34 with the ball while grabbing 11 wickets. Pakistan’s leading spinner was in his element in the tournament and stood out with his much-improved control.

Josh Little – 11 wickets

A hat trick was the cherry on the cake for a fantastic T20 World Cup2022 for Ireland’s left-arm quick. 1. The other day, while I was at work, my sister stole my apple ipad and tested to see if it can survive a forty foot drop, just so she can be a youtube sensation. My apple ipad is now destroyed and she has 83 views. I know this is totally off topic but I had to share it with someone!

  2. My partner and I stumbled over here from a different page and thought I might check things out. I like what I see so now i am following you. Look forward to looking over your web page repeatedly.
