The swooping curves of the emblem represent desert dunes, and the unbroken loop depicts both the number eight – representing the tournament’s host stadiums – and the infinity symbol, reflecting the event’s interconnected nature, which fuses tradition with modernity.

The same processes of close collaboration were applied to the creation of the FIFA World Cup 2022™ Official Match Ball. FIFA and Adidas combined forces to create their 14th successive ball for the tournament.

The remarkable outcome was Al Rihla, meaning ‘the journey in Arabic. Al Rihla is inspired by the culture, architecture, iconic boats, and flag of Qatar.

The bold, vibrant colours set on a pearlescent background represent the FIFA World Cup™ Host Country and the ever-increasing speed of the game.

Official FIFA World Cup™ Trophy The FIFA World Cup™ Trophy is awarded to the winners of the FIFA World Cup™. The trophy depicts two athlete figures holding up the Earth – their shapes replicating the excitement of victory. It was made by the Stabilimento Artistico Bertoni Company in Milan, Italy.

Official Soundtrack Qatar 2022™

Official Soundtrack Qatar 2022™ is all about bringing the world together in harmony, so it stands to reason that this year, for the first time, instead of one official song, a full FIFA World Cup™ Official Soundtrack has been released. A multi-song collection, featuring international artists across a variety of musical genres delivering smash hits, sets the tone for a truly global celebration. By bringing all these voices together, this collection symbolizes how music and football can unite the world.

The 64 matches will take place across eight venues:

Al Bayt Stadium:

The football stadium gets its name from ‘Bayt al sha’ar’ – which were tents historically used by nomadic peoples in Qatar and the Gulf region.

The design honours Qatar’s history and presents while maintaining one eye on the future of the community.

The stadium covers an area bigger than 30 football pitches, Al Bayt Park boasts vast green areas with play areas and exercise stations, along with running, cycling, horse riding, and camel riding tracks.

In addition, the precinct is home to multi-sport grounds which are also open for public use. In November 2021, the Quodorat Centre, a neighbourhood space for the protection of cultural heritage and inter-generational dialogue, opened its new headquarters within the precinct, in collaboration with the SC and Aspire Zone.

Directed by Qatar’s Ministry of Culture and Sport, a branch of the Noma’s Centre will train youth about the country’s cultural heritage by organizing a numeral of activities, including horse riding.

Education City Stadium:

The front of the football stadium features triangles that form complex, diamond-like geometrical patterns which appear to change colour with the sun’s motion across the sky. Its also dubbed the “diamond in the desert”

Like diamonds, the stadium’s design symbolizes quality, durability, and resilience – and will become something to be treasured, both for the memories it holds and its future value to Qatar.

The stadium was developed using an intricate, multi-faceted design reminiscent of gems.

It was inaugurated on June 15, 2020, in a virtual event that paid tribute to front-line healthcare workers fighting the coronavirus pandemic.

Khalifa International Stadium:

The stadium is located near Aspire Park and Villagio Mall, Khalifa International was the first stadium prepared for Qatar 2022.

The football stadium is best known for its dual arches and wide canopy that help keep the stadium’s integration of its cooling system cool for use year-round.

the stadium now features a new facade. The new stadium’s LED lighting system counts a new dimension to the fan experience.

Al Janoub Stadium

Designed by the late British Iraqi architect Zaha Hadid, the stadiums were designed inspired by the sails of the traditional dhow sailboats used for trading and transporting goods.

Its located in Qatar’s second-most populated city, Al Wakra, approximately 20km (13.6 miles) south of Doha.

An ingenious cooling system and retractable roof indicate the stadium will be used all year round.

AECOM and Zaha Hadid Architects designed the football stadium.

Al Janoub Park, within the precinct, opened in February 2020. It features running tracks, cycling, green spaces, children’s play areas, and others. Yet, there will be a marketplace and neighbourhood facilities, which include a mosque and a school.

Al Thumama Stadium

The Football Stadium, less than 15km (9 miles) away from Hamad International Airport, is also inspired by Gulf culture, in this case, the gahfiya – a traditional openwork skullcap that is for men and boys across the Middle East.

Stadiums Qatari architect Ibrahim M Jaidah Its stated in an interview that just like the gahfiya is “used to protect one’s head from the heat, the shape is also used to shield spectators from the sun”.

The gahfiya forms a fundamental layer of the traditional clothing of the Gulf region. It also symbolises dignity and independence.

Stadium 974

Stadium 974, also known as Ras Abu Aboud Stadium, is believed the first completely dismantlable stadium in the history of the Fifa World Cup tournaments.

Designers of the stadium Fenwick Iribarren Architects, the 40,000-capacity stadium is named after Qatar’s global three-digit dialling code, +974, and also the number of shipping containers used to make it.

The stadium’s innovative modular design indicated that fewer normal building materials were needed than in traditional stadium development, which helped maintain building expenses down.

Ahmed Bin Ali Stadium

Ahmed Bin Ali Stadium, also known as Al Rayyan Stadium, was designed by British firm BDP Pattern and inaugurated on December 18, 2020, to mark two years until the World Cup 2022 final.

Developed to mimic the dunes of the desert, the stadium is located next to the Mall of Qatar and can be reached by taking the green metro line.

Lusail Stadium is Qatar’s biggest football stadium and will host the Fifa World Cup 20222 final on December 18, along with nine other matches during every stage of the event.

The stadium’s shape and facade reflect the intricate decorative motifs on bowls and other vessels characteristic of the golden age of art and craftsmanship in the Arab and Islamic world.
